WE NEED FRESH WATER!
Freshwater is water with a low salt percentage(usually around one percent). Some examples of freshwater are lakes, rivers, creeks, streams, and ponds.
Freshwater is globally important because it gives us our drinking water and is a resource for agriculture, sanitation, industry and food. Forty percent of all known fish species live in freshwater. In fact 2.5% of our earth’s surface is made up of fresh water. This may not seem like a lot, but if you were to take away this biome, about 12% of all animal species would lose their habitat!
